Bellville Police need help identifying the parents of a newborn baby boy who was found abandoned at Karoo Street in Oakdale on Saturday, 2 October.
Police say the baby was found by residents at about 7am.
Police spokesperson FC van Wyk explains: “A newborn baby boy, wrapped in [a] white and grey baby blanket and green jacket was left and discovered at Karoo Street, Oakdale, Bellville.
“The child was found by residents and Bellville SAPS was contacted.
“A case of child abandonment was registered.
“Bellville Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS) request assistance of the public in locating and or to determine the identity of the baby and his parents or family.”
Van Wyk said the baby boy was found to be in good health.
