Another body has washed ashore at a Cape Town beach, the third in just one week.

On Saturday, locals fishing on the shore of Holbaai, a secluded little beach opposite the Atlantic Beach Golf Club in Bloubergstrand, got a skrik when they came across the body of an unknown man.

Police confirmed the body to be that of a male in his 30s.

The dreadlocked man was dressed in blue overall pants, a light brown T-shirt and one shoe on the left foot.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Andrè Traut, says a death inquest docket has been opened for investigation.

“This office can confirm that the circumstances surrounding the death of a male in his thirties are being investigated after his body was discovered in Holbaai in Bloubergstrand on Saturday. A death inquest case docket has been registered,” Traut said.

Last week, two bodies were found at Cape Flats beaches.

On Saturday, 13 April the body of a 24-year-old male washed ashore below the rocks at Monwabisi Beach at high tide.

This man’s hands were tied behind his back and he was naked.

Police confirmed three people were arrested for this incident.

Three days later a second body washed up between Mnandi Beach and Monwabisi Resort.

The unknown man’s hands were tied with a navy blue jacket while his blue jeans were pulled down to his ankles.

Police said a murder docket was opened and no arrests were made.
