Cops are investigating the murder of three young women who were shot in the head execution-style in Site B, Khayelitsha last night.
Unam Bless,17, Siyasanga Nkasela and Zintle, both in their 20’s, were walking home from a friend’s place when they were gunned down in TT informal settlement by unknown suspects on Monday night.
Residents say they heard the several gunshots around 8pm and later found the three friends with bullet wounds to the head.
Nandipha Nanambane, one of the first residents on the scene, says she heard a bang on the wall of her shack followed by the sound of several gunshots around 8pm.
"We found the three girls lying in a pool of blood next to each other, one was still breathing, '' she tells the Daily Voice.
"I am still traumatised, it is heartbreaking that our children die like flies in the hands of cruel perpetrators," she adds.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa says no one has been arrested.
"The Western Cape police have instituted the 72-hour activation plan for the mobilisation of resources in search of the suspects/s who shot and killed three young women in Khayelitsha on Monday evening.
As investigations into the murders continue, the motive for the shooting incident is yet to be determined," she says.
