Three drug runners from Grassy Park appeared in the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court this morning after they were nabbed with drugs worth nearly R10 000 yesterday.
Grassy Park station commander, Colonel Dawood Laing, says cops are taking out merts by tracking their movements to rid the streets of drugs.
He says after midnight, cops patrolling Parkwood Avenue were approached by residents who piemped a drug runner.
“They received information about the drug runner selling near Parkwood Avenue and chased after him,” he says.
“They found him in possession of 99 half mandrax tablets, 20 whole mandrax tablets, four packets of tik and 20 bankies of dagga worth over R5000.
“The 36-year-old man was arrested and charged for drug dealing and it was discovered he was running drugs for one of the big merchants.”
Yesterday morning, cops caught a 26-year-old member of the Six Bobs in possession of 71 packets of tik and a stash of mandrax worth R3700.
SEIZED: Drugs, cash
Several hours later cops made another bust when they caught a member of the Junky Funky Kidz gang trying to hide a bag of drugs in Abdullah Walk.
“Officers found tik, mandrax and a substantial amount of cash,” says Laing.
He says Grassy Park police are working hard to rid the streets of drugs and applauded residents for piemping merchants.
“We warned that we are coming for all of them and we won’t stop. The community is really working well with us by providing information so we want to thank them for their role.”
