MURDER: Man shot dead in Inizamo Yethu, Hout Bay

POLICE reported a shooting in Imizamo Yethu, Hout Bay claimed the life of a man and left a teenager injured on Tuesday evening.

Sergeant Wesley Twigg said a 17-year-old boy managed to escape with his life after being shot, and a 23-year-old man was killed on the Reconciliation Day public holiday.

He said: “Hout Bay police registered murder and attempted murder cases for investigation following a shooting incident on Tuesday, December 16, at 6pm, in Molokwane Street, Imizamo Yethu, where a 23-year-old male was shot and fatally wounded and a 17-year-old male shot and wounded.

“Police members attended the crime scene where they found the victims with gunshot wounds to their bodies. 

“The 23-year-old victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel, while the other victim was taken to a medical facility for treatment. 

“The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation and arrests are yet to be made.

Meanwhile, cops arrested a man who was shooting randomly in Grindel Avenue, Lavender Hill. 

Patrolling officers were stopped by community members who informed them about a person who was shooting. 

Twigg added: “The 46-year-old male is facing a charge of discharging a firearm in a municipal area and he will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s court once charged.”
