The body of a man has been found bludgeoned to death on his bed, at least four days after he was
murdered.
Police were called to the separate entrance in Fourth Avenue, Fairways, on Wednesday, where they discovered the body of Grant Herringer, 45.
Cops reveal Herringer had been involved in an argument on Saturday night with a woman and man, who are now being sought for questioning.
Grant was found by his father after he failed to emerge from his flat for several days.
He was discovered lying on his back on his bed.
Fairways Neighbourhood Watch say they were first on the scene: “We had police tape and secured the scene.
“His father had been there on Monday and knocked at the door and again on Wednesday until he got a bad smell and opened the window and saw what had
happened.”
Grassy Park SAPS Commander, Colonel Dawood Laing, says they are looking for two people who can help their investigation: “The victim was hit with a bottle on the head and there were a lot of fragments of the bottle inside the residence.
“On Saturday, there was a commotion, a fight and there was a male and a female named who we believe can help us with the investigation.”
The two persons are believed to be from Parkwood and have only been identified as Quincy and Janine.
Police spokesperson, Siyabulela Malo, says a murder investigation is under way with no arrests yet.
“We urge anyone with information that can assist with the investigation to kindly contact Grassy park police Detective Seargant Vuyo Gumenke on 082 302 3776 or Detective Captain Clive Petersen or 082 522 0501or alternatively call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.”
