Come sit with us on the Orange Couch, and let’s talk you don’t need to be told that gender-based violence is a massive problem around the world, and specifically in South Africa.
Therefore, SABC1 has created a show for Mzansi’s women to tell their stories of abuse in their own voices.
In the light of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (which starts 25 November) SABC1 launched The Orange Couch last week Monday. For five weeks, every Monday and Tuesday at 6pm, (with repeat shows on Thursdays) The Orange Couch creates a platform for abused women to freely share their plight.
Shows like these are much needed to highlight the problems women face in our communities and in the first episode Nelly Matshaba shared her story of abuse and struggling to fit in as a child.
Don’t miss the repeat of the second episode at 9pm.
