Pride Month has hit the Cape in full force, and this weekend will be filled with colour as the LGBTI community celebrates.
On Saturday, it’s the annual Mr and Miss Cape Town Pride pageant, happening at the Joseph Stone Auditorium in
Athlone.
Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm.
There will be 12 men and 14 women vying for the titles.
Entertainment includes reigning Mr and Miss Cape Town Pride, Marvin Lee Ross and Maxine Wild, as well as Diego Jeffries and Hunter Blue.

Kayser will be the MC and you can expect an evening of great pageantry, entertainment and fun.
Organiser Barry Reid says: “It’s been going for a good 15 years at least, three years ago, myself and Mark Donough were asked to take over.
“Finalists are judged in swimwear and evening wear, a top five is selected for a question and answer session and then from there on a winner is selected on the highest score.”
Drag and transgender women are allowed to take part in the pageant.

Tonight at Zer021, Richard Julies is hosting a fundraiser for Pride Shelter, with performances by 021 Movement Dance Group, Kyle Linde, Nicole Domingo and Khalani Khaliefa.

Show starts at 9pm, with an afterparty with DJ Namba. Cover charge R30.
On Sunday, Shadwick Southgate of Let Them Eat Cake, presents a Sunday Drag Brunch: Pride Edition at Soute in Salt River at 11am, hosted by Wendy La Rosa.
Performances include Kat Gilardi, Manila Von Teez and Jayde Kay.
