Sjoe, SABC1 is witwarm this month nè. Have you seen all the new programming the channel is so proudly showing off? It’s been a long dry spell for SABC1 Mzansi Fo’ Sho, but with shows like Emasisweni things are heating up again. So what’s the show about?
This docu-reality series tells the tale of the proud and colourful life journey of 20-something Zulu woman Zinhle Ngidi, a ‘virgin’ from Soweto, who goes on a cultural journey to discover herself. She is trying to figure out where old cultural practices like virginity testing fit into a modern world, and how to think about these kinds of things and how far she can go, as a proud and traditional Zulu girl, to see these traditions stay alive.
Later on SABC1, at 6.30pm, we have the always popular Skeem Saam where the Seakamelas seem to have lost their matriarch, and Leeto is hiding some things from his parents.
