This weekend there are quite a few musical blasts from the past innie Kaap.
The Return of Tevin Campbell is happening at GrandWest tonight, three years after he performed in Cape Town.
He’s had hits like Can We Talk, I’m Ready and Tell Me What You Want Me To Do, but in total Tevin has sold over five million albums.
The singer has also notched up four Grammy nominations and he is still going strong.
Tonight there is another musical treat - Chad Saaiman and The Black Ties, and Lloyd Cele are the opening acts for the show.
Tickets start at R295 and are available at Computicket.
Then you don’t have to Kiss & Say Goodbye to them because The Manhattans are at Grandwest on Sunday for the Legends of RnB show.
They have been to Cape Town many times and will be dazzling the crowd with songs like Forever By Your Side, Shining Star and There’s No Me Without You.
Vocalist Gerald Alston, who joined the group way back in 1970, will also be on stage.
Joining them is another legendary voice, that of songbird Regina Belle.
She’s also no stranger to chart topping hits with tunes like Baby Come To Me, Make It Like It Was and of course her Grammy Award-winning duet with Peabo Bryson, A Whole New World, which was the soundtrack for the 1992 Disney movie Aladdin.
Regina is a soul and jazz legend who is still making music today and still thrills a crowd when she takes centre stage.
Tickets start at R430 from Computicket.
