Bush Radio has locked down a popular presenter to get listeners through the 21-day isolation period.
No stranger to radio, Trevor Davids, who some will remember as “Sister”, hosts the new Back Chat with Trevor show, which airs Monday to Friday 1pm to 4pm.
“When I was asked by (station manager) Adrian Louw to develop, produce and present a show on Bush Radio specifically for the lockdown period, I wholeheartedly accepted after deliberations with my family,” he says.
Trevor, from Wetton, explains that the show, which launched on Monday, will be informative and interactive.
“It’s about connecting people and creating a positive vibe,” he says.
“This takes into consideration and not ignoring people’s living conditions and the abject poverty in our areas.
“It’s about connecting people through conversations and music.
“Guaranteed laughter and crying and how people cope during lockdown, we speak to people who have been in hospital for other ailments aside from the Coronavirus and can’t get family members to visit them during lockdown, that’s another way of connecting people.
“It doubles up the duties of those on the frontline, who now have to be the hospital staff and the visitors.”
Trevor, 57, says the next three weeks of the show will feature lekker local music.
“I’m going to be playing local music as far as possible,” he says.
