For those of you who did not know, that Nutella chocolate spread kids love is made by Ferrero.
You will need:
1 large pack Oreos.
Approximately two thirds of a 400g jar of Nutella.
Crush the Oreos and mix with Nutella into a bowl.
Use either a teaspoon and tablespoon or gloved hands to shape the perfect ball – about the size of a cocktail frikkadel
Place on a plate and decorate with anything. We are using those pretty silver balls.
Set in the fridge for 30 mins. They are fantastic on their own. Try them with ice cream, jy sal my weer kom sê.
As an added bonus: dip daai strawberries. Mind you, just halfway, not all the way please, and place in a deep bowl. Remember to refrigerate for at least 15 mins after the dip.
What you will need: If you are making your own Easter eggs, the molds, chocolate and any decoration can be found at Osman’s Store in Gatesville. As an activity you can have the kids make and decorate their own lollipops.
Most people will buy the cooking chocolate, because it is not as expensive as buying slabs from the stores, but if you are making them, try blending the two. It is cheaper and will still be lekker.
Melt your chocolate slowly, stirring continuously and place into mold. My children want sweets inside their chocolate, so I make the bunny or egg hollow. Make two hollow molds and fill them with Astros and Jelly Tots. Before the molds are fully set, peg the molds together to make a whole choccie. Leave to set in the fridge and enjoy.
