Ingredients

- 1kg of steak mince 

-   1 onion, finely chopped 

-  1 green pepper, chopped 

-  1 tablespoon of freshly grated garlic 

-  2 tablespoons of oil 

-  Salt to taste 

-  2 tablespoons of fresh coriander, chopped 

-  1 tablespoon of black pepper 

-  1 teaspoon of crushed chilli flakes 

-  1 teaspoon masala 

-  4 slices of bread soaked in a little milk 

-  1 egg

Method

First fry in oil the onions, green pepper, garlic and spices for about 6 to 8 minutes. 

In a large bowl, add the mince, the onion mixture, egg, coriander, salt and the bread squeezed from the milk and mix until combined. 

Place in a oven baking dish and bake in a preheated oven at 190°C for 15 minutes.

 

Take from the oven and cover with mashed potatoes and a grating of fresh nutmeg. Bake 

further for 20 minutes. 

Mashed potatoes - boil 10 peeled and cubed potatoes in water and salt until soft. 

Mash with 4 tablespoons of butter and just enough milk (approx. 2 cups) to make a fluffy mashed potato.

Delicious.
