We’ve hit the mid-month slump but this weekend there’s a lekker warme line-up of entertainment to keep you going.
The annual Miss New Woodlands takes place at Club Galaxy on Friday night where 20 contestants from all over Cape Town will compete.
Emogen Moore took over the pageant from Zillin Ayoki Zhang who moved to China earlier this year.
“I feel this pageant had to continue because there are girls who really want and need this stepping stone to reach greater heights,” she says.
Emogen won Miss New Woodlands in 2014 and Miss Gay Western Cape in 2017.
Entry to the event is R70 at the door and the pageant starts at 9.30pm.
The reigning queen, Rubee Lee Lukas, will be handing over her crown.
Emogen will be performing along with Maxine Wild and Skyla Barrymore while Evon Von Diamond is the MC.
The Music Exchange aka #MEX19 is kicking off Friday, until Sunday.
MEX is South Africa’s only entertainment economy- focused conference running at the Radisson Red Hotel at the V&A Waterfront.
If you’re in the music industry or simply love local music, and want to know how things work, then this one’s for you.
David Kramer will deliver the keynote address at the event which starts at 2pm on Friday.
