Let’s Groove Tonight Cape Town was a hit at the Baxter Theatre over the weekend as the show saw both nights sold out.
Show producer Armien Gallant from AG Promotions produced a stellar line-up with a little help from Calvin Peters aka Uncle Cal as music compiler and Don Vino Prins as musical director.
The audience was treated to an evening of old school music accompanied by a live band and the comical genius of Shimmy Isaacs, who was the MC.
Musos Fagri Isaacs and Krista Jonas opened the event with a heartwarming duet, while Loukmaan Adams made the ladies swoon with his velvety voice singing Zurayda.
Powerhouse Vuvu Khumalo brought the funk in a glittering silver mini performing a medley of songs.
Mense also enjoyed the vocals of Lyndle Kearns who hit all the right notes, while 3 Tons of Fun gave everyone a big surprise with their beautiful harmonies and sexy outfit changes.
Singer and designer, Envic Booysen from Grabouw brought the drama in one of his own creations, a diamante-encrusted one-piece.
The PJ Twins - Peter and John Talmarkes - had the audience on their feet when they walked through the aisles serenading the ladies with a medley of old school hits.
In a lekker surprise, Uncle Cal was awarded with a Lifetime Achievement Award by Armien, for his contribution to the local music industry and his Band Aid Project for sukkeling entertainers.
“Cal has done so much for everyone and it’s time we thank and honour him for his role,” said Armien.
