A young Cape Flats producer has taken his storytelling to a new level when he started filming his very own reality TV show this week.
Justin Hagen, 25, from Bellville is no stranger to showbiz and previously appeared in theatre productions and did stand up comedy gigs as a means of telling his stories.
He recently showcased his one-man show called Cut In The Middle at Artscape.
His career started in 2013 as a sports anchor on a show called TaxiVision which was the brainchild of popular entertainer, Soli Philander.
But Justin says he wanted a bigger platform to express himself.
“I used to do stand up comedy sets where I shared my experiences about dating,” Justin says.
“It was always a funny story to tell because I touched on topics that couples are afraid to address.”
Justin says his grappies were well received by audiences and this sparked his idea of a TV talk show.
“The show will tackle topics like dating etiquette, how men get things wrong, are pick up lines still relevant in this age, impressing your partner on the first date and all things related to dating and koppeling for a speen,” he laughs.
Justin says the show will be called It’s Complicated.
“So this show will help men decide on what to wear on dates, what women should look out for in a man, what attracts women and so forth,” he adds.
It’s Complicated will start airing on CTV in December, a date will be announced at the end of this month.
