It was no act when local theatre stars Dean Balie and Bianca Flanders tied the knot at the weekend, after trying for two years.
The acting pair wed at an outdoor ceremony at the Pat Busch Mountain Reserve near Robertson on Saturday.
They were joined by 155 guests on an earthy set-up decked with flowers.
Dean, 31, from Namaqualand moved to Cape Town in 2010, studying Arts at Stellenbosch University.
Bianca, 32, was born in East London but grew up in Rondebosch where she studied Arts at UCT.
The two currently live in Woodstock where they became first-time home owners this year.
Dean says the pandemic kept delaying their wedding plans.
Remembering how they met, the Kat and the Kings star says: “We met at the Fugard Theatre, she came in as an understudy for Blood Brothers.
“We were dating for seven years but we first remained friends for a bit, swapping music because we both love jazz.
One of the bridesmaids, actress Jill Levenberg, said: “I’m so happy for these two and I’m equally happy to have been part of the bridal party for such a special couple.”
Bianca adds: “We feel blessed and very happy... It was a celebration of our union, of families coming together but also celebrating life after a year in this strange world and time we live in.”
Bianca is set to star in Krotoa at the Artscape soon and Dean is preparing for his show called Van ’n Vrou in December.
