Get ready to enjoy your lunch hour even more when DJ Ready D takes over the lunchtime show on Good Hope FM from today.
The station has announced some hectic changes that might take some getting used to if you’re a regular listener.
Hip hop lovers and petrolkoppe are being forced to adapt as the legendary DJ and official Grandmaster will step into the daytime line-up to host The Good Vibez with DJ Ready D from 12pm-3pm.
On Tuesday night, Ready D bid an emotional farewell to his listeners, saying: “I say goodbye to this space after 11 years, this is one space I'm really going to miss.
“I'm nervous about the new journey, but I'm sure there is lots to learn. I look forward to making new friends with new listeners.”
Meanwhile, after a year with GHFM on Saaiman Says, singer Chad Saaiman is no longer a weekend special and is moving into a new slot from Monday to Thursday, 6pm to 9pm.
The breakfast show will continue to be hosted by Big Stan Mars from 6am to 9am, followed by Leigh-Anne Williams, from 9am to noon.
Kyeezi will continue to steer The Great Drive from 3pm-6pm, while Celest Anthony moves from the 6pm-9pm slot to take over her new show, Night Life from 9pm to 12am.
Garth B is gaining an additional show on Saturday with Social Saturdays from noon to 3pm and will continue with his popular Sunday show Thank Garth it’s Sunday from 12pm-3pm.
The station also sees the return of Carissa Cupido, as she hosts Culture Beat from 3pm to 6pm on Saturdays.
Stan Mars is also doing a Sunday three-hour gig when he brings the The Big Chill from 9am.
To round off Sunday, the 2020 Good Hope FM Campus DJ Search winner, Noni Radebe, will ease you into the new week with Night Beat from 10pm to 1am.
