AKA is slowly coming out of his shell again and has returned to social media while spending time in the Cape.
This after the rapper took a break from all his online platforms following the tragic death of his fiancée, Anele “Nellie” Tembe.
Anele, 22, died in April after an incident at the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town where she fell from the 10th floor.
Following the tragedy, AKA released a statement in which he said he would be taking a break from social media.
“As we undergo this painful journey, I have entrusted my team to handle all of my affairs in the public domain, including all my social media platforms,” said part of the statement.
However, this past weekend, the 33-year-old took to Instagram to post new pictures and share videos on Instagram.
On Monday afternoon, AKA shared a video of him playing basketball with laaities in Westridge, Mitchells Plain, where he grew up.
His toppie Tony nogal commented: “I used to play soccer cricket and rugby in this same park when I was a boy.”
Supa Mega fans showed their support, with isessimone posting, “Welcome back home @akaworldwide and strings. God bless you always.”
Charneycbsza wrote: “Good to go back to our roots - especially at a time of healing.”
And Simply_fundy commented: “Your therapist is doing an amazing job. You seem way better.”
Dad Tony added: “Thank you for the love you show my Kiernie boy.”
AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes, also posted a pic of a lekker bord koeksisters, pinned Mitchells Plain.
The Fela In Versace hitmaker also posted a picture of himself and his dog and, another of himself by a lake with mountains in the background.
He captioned the picture “Blessed Sunday”.
