Singer Robin Pieters is hosting his annual extravaganza It’s a Love Thing Vol 5 this Sunday and the theme is Bridgerton – currently the hottest series on Netflix.
The series is set in the Regency era in England, where eight close-knit siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family attempt to find love.
Robin, 31, says this was the perfect theme for Valentine’s Day, and he and his friends went to town with promos on social media, dressing up in costumes and playing the part of English lords and ladies.
The show will feature Idols winner Yanga Sobetwa, Elwira Standili, Craig Lucas, Vuvu Khumalo, Anastacia Pharo and a live band.
Sadly, but not surprisingly, the usually sold-out show will be streamed online due to the pandemic.
“It’s going to be really different doing the show online. Yes, I have done shows online before but you know, It’s A Love Thing just deserves that vibe, that sense of togetherness.
“It’s always just amazing to feel the love inside a 5000 seater fully packed venue,-but, alas, Covid-19 ruined that.”
But the show must go on and he says: “People can watch the show from the comfort and safety of their own homes and with friends if they want to.
“We will stream the show on Quicket and Computicket.”
Tickets are R100 and the show starts at 8.15pm.
