The funeral of Queen Elizabeth II’s husband Prince Philip, 99, will take place on Saturday.
Buckingham Palace announced that a stripped-back ceremony would be held due to coronavirus restrictions.
Prince Harry will attend the funeral but not his wife Meghan Markle.
Meghan, who is pregnant with their second child, had been advised against travelling from the USA on medical grounds.
Prince Charles, the Queen and Philip’s eldest son and heir to the throne, paid a heartfelt tribute to his father.
Charles, 72, said: “My dear Papa was a very special person who I think above all else would have been amazed by the reaction and the touching things that have been said about him, and from that point of view we are deeply grateful for all that.”
The Duke of Edinburgh – at 73 years, the longest surviving English consort – died on Friday just two months short of his birthday.
Britain went into eight days of national mourning. Gun salutes echoed throughout the UK on Saturday as the armed forces paid tribute to the Duke.
The funeral will be held at Windsor Castle’s St. George’s Chapel in London.
A national minute’s silence will precede the ceremony
