The moms of celebs are just like ordinary moms in that they also want to be spoiled on Mother’s Day.
The Daily Voice chatted to a few Cape Town celebrities to find out more about the women who raised them.
Musician and TV presenter Jonathan Rubain says his mom Naomi Rubain, 57, drilled into him the principle of greeting everyone by their name and he needs to phone her thrice a day.
“We are two boys and mum has three grandchildren, she is my rock, my best friend, my prayer warrior.
“Everything I am today, is because of what she instilled in me.
“She taught me respect. She took greeting very seriously- I had to greet everyone in the room on their names.
“My mother is the funniest person I know, I definitely get my sense of humour from her.
“We have so much in common. She is a giver, which is why I believe I’m also a giver.
“She makes sure everyone eats and that's also one of my traits.
“My mother is the most amazing human being ever. My world revolves around her.
“Every decision I make, I discuss with her first. She is part of my everyday life.
“If I'm not home with her, we speak over the phone at least thrice a day.
“Happy Mother's Day, mommy. You are the best mother in the whole wide world and I am honoured to call you mother.”
