MULTI-TALENTED: Rapper, model and designer Natheerah has launched her first album

Natheerah Pillay is a local model, but she’s not your average pretty face.

The multi-talented 31-year-old is a rapper and released her first online album, titled I Don’t Care, last month.

What’s more, Natheerah, who was born and bred in Cape Town CBD, is planning on launching her fashion label next month.

As if she’s not biesag enough, she also has two books waiting to be published.

“I was a ghostwriter for local artists since the age of 16, but last year I decided that it was time for me to just break out on my own so I started rapping,” she says.

“I have over 20 songs that I wrote for myself so my plan is just to go big.

“The two books I want to get published are non-fiction, they’re all about real-life relationships and life decisions.”

DEBUT: Album I Don’t Care

Natheerah, stage name Nathz, says she can’t disclose which artists she has written for due to contractual obligations, however she says she has gained enough experience to launch her album.

“People like to say that I am a female version of YoungstaCPT, but I like to do different genres and on the album, I mostly rap alone while I wrote all of the music.”

Natheerah’s other passion is designing clothes for her Halo clothing brand, which she also uses to help the community.

“Last year I started reaching out to high school girls in less fortunate communities and I designed their matric ball dresses for them.

“One day of course I hope to have Halo clothing all over Cape Town and South Africa.”

In 2019, Natheerah featured in the Daily Voice after she was the only Kaapse beauty to make the finals of Miss India SA pageant.
