Bishop Lavis rapper Riaan Scholtz, aka Mr Heinz, has released a brand-new single called Kaapenaar featuring Cream Machine.
The song is the second single to come off his debut project titled Republic of Ghamstad.
It was produced by Shaney Jay and engineered by illRow at Y?Gen studios in Wynberg.
The single features Afrikaans rap giant Cream Machine and the video features various special appearances by the likes of Plaasnaar, Badass Naz and Mary Jo.
Riaan says Kaapenaar is filled with very catchy Afrikaans wordplay and describes the beat as “bouncy and hard at the same time”.
According to him, this is a sound “unheard of” on the Afrikaans scene.
The Kaapenaar music video was filmed in various spots on the Cape Flats including Autopunks in Retreat, The Studio CPT, Bishop Lavis and Groenekloof Plaas.
It’s all about a Capetonian who smaaks a goose from the beyond the Boland mountains and how he tries to bowl her.
Mr Heinz raps: “Sy’s vannie Boland, ek is vannie city, Kaapstad laaitie op soek na ‘n stukkie, if it’s worth it I work it, luister missy, jy dink jy’s kwaai ma jy issie pity, Mr Heinz vannie Lavis, die issie ground vannie hustlers and players, where the ouens sell dwelms.”
Riaan has been rapping since he was 18 and says he was due to release his debut album next month but had to postpone to January 2022 due to the lockdown.
The album includes contributions by Chad Da Don, Youngsta CPT, Early B, Kash CPT and more.
The single was released on 9 September and is available on all streaming platform services while the video can be seen on YouTube.
