R&B singer Amy Jones is the definition of “living off love and fresh air” at the moment.
The hitmaker from Paarl officially announced her romance with her manager of five years, Lee Wilcock, on Monday.
She posted the news on Facebook to accompany her recently released single, called I Think I'm In Love, quoting some lyrics: “I’ve never met someone who treats me like you do, I didn’t know that love could ever feel so right until I looked so deeply, deep into your eyes.”
She then shocked fans when she announced that the song is actually about Lee.
“My new song, I Think I’m In Love, is about Lee James Willcock. I have found the one whom my soul loves,” she wrote.
Amy recalls the day they made it official and says Lee and his two kids planned the whole move at Camps Bay beach.
Amy, 28, tells the Daily Voice: “We made it official a few months ago, it happened on Camps Bay. Lee and his two kids had it all planned out. I had no idea.
“Meanwhile, Lee had already asked my parents for permission to date me as they believe it’s the right way to go about things.
“We went to Camps Bay, and there I turned around and his kids were standing in a heart, made in the sand, and asked me out on behalf of Lee with two A4 size pages.
“It was such a beautiful and memorable moment that I’ll never forget.”
Lee, 42, also from Paarl, says the romance is new: “I didn't realise that people could already see chemistry between us, but I promise it’s only since now.
“We both decided to take it up as a real thing now.”
Amy says she met the man of her dreams at church: “I love ‘love’ and I’m so happy to be able to share it with my fans whom my soul loves.”
The song is accessible on all digital platforms.
