If you think you’ve got what it takes to be the domino king or queen of the Cape Flats, then stiek uit at the YMCA Cape Flats in Strandfontein for the Linking Communities Together Domino Tournament.
The initiative is a joint venture by the YMCA and Oasis who are safe havens for the homeless and recovering addicts.
YMCA coordinator Merle Alexander explains: “We want to teach the youth that you can have fun without substances and also include the elderly with the younger generation.
Anyone over 18 may enter, says Oasis coordinator Lynn Damons.
“The idea is to have the different organisations run the tournament within their communities (with Oasis’ help), and the top 5 winning teams will come to the final at the Oasis facility in Schaapkraal on the 17 December 2021.”
