MESSAGE: Ernest St.Claire aka $ain’t Clair
Singer Ernest St.Clair, aka $ain’t Clair, recently teamed up with fresh music talent Aden Ajam, aka Son of 11:11, for a new single about Covid-19 and alcohol abuse.
The song, called That’s Life, was launched in January and $ain’t Clair, from Lotus River, says the song is relevant to today’s times: “With all the chaos happening in the world right now, alcohol has a louder voice than what we think, it has the ability to create a sense of fake happiness... that's life.”
The song was produced by $ain't Clair, 39, and co-written with Son of 11:11.
Son of 11:11, a 24-year-old model and singer from the Northern suburbs, says his stage name is an important asset to his career.
“My father was a key factor in my life, my father’s birth date was 11 November, and when my father died, I decided this would be my name and I had a tattoo done in his honour with the words Son of 11:11,” he explains.
That’s Life goes: “My name is alcohol, I know you miss me, is it gin or vodka or whiskey you miss. Lockdown come along celebrating, I know that sh!t don't even sound so amazing, yeah, but that's life.”
The music video is also available on YouTube, says $ain’t Clair: “We would encourage the people to watch it and draw an opinion about our views around the pandemic, lockdown and the bigger picture of the new world we are moving into.”
The song also draws attention to the rise of social media and how dependent people have become on it to feel validated, he adds.
That’s Life is available on all digital platforms.
