A young Cape Town comedian is set to host his own TV show starting on Friday.
Coffee & Comedy with Rezah Forbes will be a weekly, 30-minute studio production featuring trending topics, funny video clips, the latest news, trending social media challenges and special celebrity guests.
Rezah Forbes, 22, says the late-night talk show, which will be recorded at the Cape Town TV studios in Observatory, is all about the fun and excitement that Cape Town has to offer.
The programme will feature a number of well-known faces and social media influencers, and include a segment called “What’s trending on my timeline” where he’ll look at some of the funniest trending videos across all social media platforms.
The entertainer told the Daily Voice: “I wanted to bring a new experience to South Africa. A different and unique show with a different experience for everyone.”
The show, which will be aired every Friday at 10pm on Cape Town TV, Channel 263 on DStv, will be repea-ted on Tuesdays at 8am.
Rezah says each episode will have new exciting discussions aimed at viewers of all ages and demographics.
“Everybody loves a good laugh, but everyone loves laughing at silly social media videos more,” he says.
“So we decided to bring that comfy experience with you chilling and laughing to memes and videos on Facebook to your TV screens.”
Rezah’s career started at the tender age of 10, starring in school concerts.
The Schaapkraal comic has performed on a variety of stages including Cape Town Comedy Club, Premium Comedy Tuesdays (Premium Sports Bar - Westridge), DStv Mitchell’s Plain Festival and the SA’s Got Talent as well as Maak My Famous.
The show will also feature a co-host and sound expert, Vaughn Visagie, aka DJ Malles, who is a DJ and business owner.
