Vuilbek rapper Cardi B has landed her first leading role in comedy fliek.
The WAP hitmaker is set to star in Assisted Living.
Cardi, real name Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, will be showcasing her acting chops in the fliek, billed as a “raucous comedy” along the lines of Whoopi Goldberg’s Sister Act franchise and Mrs Doubtfire, starring the late Robin Williams.
The rapper is to play the role of small-time skelm Amber, who is on the run from the cops after a heist goes wrong.
With limited wegkruip options, she disguises herself as an ou vrou and hides out in her estranged ouma’s old aged home.
Cardi, 28, is no stranger to the big screen.
Her feature film debut was in the 2019 stripper crime drama Hustlers, opposite Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu and Keke Palmer.
And she’ll be starringin F9, the next instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise.
Sharing the news on Twitter, an excited Cardi wrote: “Work and life is about to become 10x harder but I’m overwhelmed with happiness. When you have opportunities in your hands, take them all!”
