Rapper AKA took aim at the South African government yet again.
First, it was the alcohol ban, now it’s the Covid-19 Relief Fund.
During a Twitter rant on Monday, the Baddest hitmaker expressed his disappointment at the R2200 Covid-19 Relief Fund for artists.
In May, Nathi Mthethwa, Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, announced that R150 million has been set aside to assist artists and sports personalities, who were unable to work due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
On Monday, the minister provided an update on how many artists and sportspersons have benefited from the relief fund.
Twitter user Charlie Marema then posed a question: “Do you welcome Nathi Mthethwa’s relief package for artists?”
AKA responded: “What the fu** am I gonna do with R2 200 a month?”
What the fuck am I gonna do with R2200 a month? https://t.co/ENte2s0wif

And his question caused ructions.
“We get R350 a month bro....be grateful dammit,” commented Nathi Mahlalela.
We get R350 a month bro....be grateful dammit.

@hazimrey_za also weighed in: “Good for you, glad you haven’t been retrenched yet and had to feel the pain of the unemployed. 2.2’s not much but it feeds and clothes hungry belly’s right not #compassion and #care friend, we all need it.”
Ey, this comment is derogatory. 2.2 buys a lot for South Africans that are retrenched and unemployed and living on the countries “good graces” (that hasn’t been stolen yet) IF they are lucky to get R350pm. 😔😔
