DON’T MIND ME: Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande is donating $1 million (about R14m) towards free therapy.
In a statement posted on Tuesday, the singer revealed that she has teamed up with mental health organisation BetterHelp as therapy “should not be for a privileged few".
Ariana has previously been open about her own struggles with anxiety and depression, once tweeting in 2018, “therapy has saved my life so many times”.
She wrote that she hopes her grant will encourage people to not be afraid of talking about needing therapy: “Thrilled to be working with @betterhelp to give away $1,000,000 of free therapy!
“While acknowledging that therapy should not be for a privileged few but something everyone has access to.
“And acknowledging that this doesn’t fix that issue in the long run, I really wanted to do this anyway in hopes of inspiring you to dip a toe in, to feel okay asking for help, and to hopefully rid your minds of any sort of self judgement in doing so!”
“I hope that you’ll take advantage of this opportunity and go to betterhelp.com/ariana to be matched with a licensed therapist for one free month. after that, you’ll have the choice to renew and continue.”

In a tweet sharing the same Instagram post, the thank u next hitmaker shared the link for the BetterHelp organisation, where people can sign up for the free therapy for a month.
Once the first month is up, people will have the option to continue the sessions and will be given a 15% discount for the second month.
Ariana, who turned 28 on Saturday, tied the knot with real estate agent Dalton Gomez on May 15 — just five months after they got engaged.
