ON: Cape Town Funny Festival

They say laughter is the best medicine so stiek uit at the Jive Cape Town Funny Festival at the Baxter Theatre, running until 6 August.

As always, the festival boasts a stellar cast of top-class local stand-up comedians and internationally acclaimed comedy variety performers.

Founded by Eddy Cassar in 1997, and now in its 13th year the festival promises even more kwaai comedians with even better jokes to make you laugh your socks off.

The local cast includes Marc Lottering, Dalin Oliver, Daniel Mpilo Richards and Mel Jones, together with Johannesburg-based comics, Loyiso Madinga and Ndumiso Lindi.

Alan Committie will be the MC, and the international performers include Mario: Queen of the Circus from the US, comedic contortionist Captain Frodo from Norway and award-winning Edinburgh Fringe Festival comedy magician, Paul Dabek from London.
