And celebrities are throwing their support and cash behind protesters in the nationwide fight against inequality and police brutality.
This following the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man who died last Monday after a white Minneapolis cop knelt on his neck.
Major cities around America have been rocked by violent clashes and looting during a week of protests.
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds took to Instagram on Sunday to announce they’ve donated $200 000 to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Legal Defense Fund.

“We want to use our privilege and platform to be an ally. And to play a part in easing pain for so many who feel as though this grand experiment is failing them.”
Chrissy Teigen originally donated $100 000 to bail out protesters who were arrested.

After receiving criticism from commentators calling recipients “rioters and criminals”.

Drake showed solidarity by donating to the National Bail Out on Monday.
The 33-year-old rap superstar shared a receipt for his $100,000 donation to the charity in his Instagram Stories.

Kim Kardashian offered to pay the medical bills of a protester hit in the face with a rubber bullet.
The reality TV star re-shared an image of Shannyn Sharyse Nara, 23, with a gaping hole in her forehead where a rubber bullet is believed to have hit her.
She reached out on Twitter, saying: “This is heartbreaking and so disturbing.
“Does anyone know how I can get in contact with her? I would love to help her with her medical care if she needs it.”

Meanwhile, boxing great Floyd “Money” Mayweather has offered to cover the funeral expenses of George Floyd.
Many stars have have been vocal on, including Justin Bieber on Instagram.
“They’d rather let the nation burn than arrest 3 of their own. Let that sink in,” he wrote.
