In July 2015, Karin Dreyer-Fouldier was diagnosed with breast cancer and has since recovered. Now, she wants to help those in need of medical support.
“On 11 August 2015, I had my mastectomy and thereafter I had 27 sessions of radiation,” she says.
“I was very fortunate because I have medical aid and it was detected early.”
The Pink Drive works in rural and disadvantaged communities helping people who do not have medical aid.
The Pink Drive does mammograms and testing for free.
“This is the second year I am raising funds for them because I am a survivor. I want to help the community who is less fortunate than what I am,” says Karin.
Support the second annual event called ‘My Story’ on Friday at 7 pm at the Kelvin Grove. Tickets are R450 and include a wine, dine and entertainment experience.
The Black Tie and Ball gown event still has tickets available on 083 632 4489.
