JOYFUL: Carmen Xclusives says she now pulls off lekker funk and R&B sounds too now that her kids are grown
We're just 18 days away from Christmas and the festive spirit is high, so what better time is there for singer Carmen Xclusive to launch her brand-new Christmas album?

The Mitchells Plain artist is set to launch her CD just before Christmas day, and promises to add some sparkle to your celebrations.

The 43-year-old says it’s her very first compilation album release, and it’s aptly called The Collaboration: Christmas Time Album.

The album, filled with some of the most popular Christmas hits, sees Carmen collaborating with multi-talented Cape Town artists Abigail Bagley and Adelia Douw.

Produced by Andrew Ford, this album was made to keep you in a festive mood, says Carmen, with old favourites like White Christmas and Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas.

“I used to love just making jazz music but now, with my kids being grown, I managed to pull off lekker funk and R&B music,” she explains.

“This fused into my Christmas CD, it caters for all ages and will keep you dancing and merry.”

The mom of four says Christmas is her favourite time of the year, as it symbolises spending time with family.

“The joy of bonding with family around Christmas time is something I truly love, and the concept of family over the festive season, is why I decided to record this album.”

She’s also hard at work on a new album, called Carmen Xclusives’ Debut Album, set to be released early in 2018.

“Every song is a carefully crafted gem and it’s been a long time coming for me to finally record and put together my very own album. I can’t wait to share it with everyone”.

The Christmas album sells for R149 and is available from her official website or you can order via email: [email protected]
