This Elsies River band needs your vote after making it into the Top 20 of the prestigious espAfrika Young Legends competition.
SignatureSA now has the chance to perform at the 20th annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival, on 29 and 30 March, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
Organisers espAfrika annually invite unsigned musicians to apply to perform at the festival and the aim is to attract exceptional South African musical talent and give them a platform.
The competition is aimed at providing a spot in the limelight for unsigned, jazz-inspired bands of two to six members.
Past winners of the competition include Cape Town’s own Lana Crowster and Eastern Cape’s VuDu, both of whom have gone on to achieve entertainment excellence throughout South Africa and beyond.
espAfrika is leaving the final decision up to the music fans.
Public voting for the Top 20 contenders is open now at www.espafrika.com, so if you want to see the local boys at the CTIJF go vote for them there.
The Top 10 will be announced on 10 January.
Royston Samuels, musical director of SignatureSA, is excited about the possibility of performing at such a huge international jazz festival.
“This is great, we are really excited and hope our fans will vote for us and help us make our dream come true. Come on, guys please vote for us!”
SignatureSA is currently busy putting the finishing touches to their debut album that will be released early next year.
