Ready D needs your help to collect toys for his annual Toy Drive.
The campaign is organised by his G-CAP (Great Cape Ambassadors Programme) and SR4A (Safer Roads For All).
Ready, whose real name is Deon Daniels, says the toys and the joys will be received by orphanages in the Overstrand.
“I’m reaching out to see if it’s possible to please assist. We are looking at ages four to 12 years old, for boys and girls. Well kept used toys will also be appreciated,” he says.
The radio DJ and petrolkop says the toy drive is much more than just dropping off a batch of toys for underprivileged children, it’s also about educa-ting the people about road safety and the dangers of drinking and driving.
“We are doing the toy drive to bring joy to children in the Overstrand area. We have noticed that the people on that side of the mountain don’t get much attention or outreach programmes.
“We visited orphanages on that side before and this is where we disco-vered the need.
undefined“One of the big projects we’ve been running since day one is the SR4A, where we speak about road safety and awareness.”
Deon says the aim is to bring joy to children in challenging situations.
“Everyone has been hit extremely hard by Covid-19, the least we can do is support the children through this time,” he says.
