Pearl Thusi says it best when she says nothing at all.
The actress and TV presenter once again rubbed social media users up the wrong way with her posts.
This time her comments were in relation to the unrest, deaths and looting currently happening around South Africa.
Since the weekend, rioters have ransacked stores, torched buildings and trucks.
The original post on Twitter was a picture of popular bookstore Exclusive Books being the only outlet that was not looted during the protests.
Pearl, 33, sakked af in a now-deleted post: “They’ll (protesters) use the books to start a fire.”
Angry Twitter users called her out immediately, saying she doesn’t know how to “read the room”.
Mlondi Nozipho Madlala commented: “U just gave them an idea.”
Phenyo sarcastically said to Pearl: “do me a favour, pick one up and read.”
However, in a follow-up tweet, Pearl said making offside remarks is her way of dealing with stress.
“Guys I cope best with stress by finding things to laugh about. I’m sorry if you don’t like it. It’s my nature. Please block/mute me to save yourself,” she wrote.
Just two weeks ago, Pearl had put her foot in it with her light-hearted response to President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement of the adjustment to Lockdown Level 4.
The Queen Sono star tweeted: “Happy lockdown everyone... I hope all those in need receive assistance, people find the silver lining in these tough times and God blesses you abundantly #ialsohopethepresidentsipadwasreturned.”
