Dust off your dancing shoes and throw on that satin and sequins outfit you’ve been wanting to show off and join Nicolene Entertainment in collaboration with 44 on Long as she presents A tribute to Michael and Diana - TOGETHER AS ONE.
Nicolene Samuels from Retreat started her own events company during lockdown and says the show promises to be breathtaking as it features Garth Field as MJ and Megan Herbert as Diana Ross.
Nicolene says she loves tribute shows and has big dreams for her production company.
“I started singing when I was 12 years old as part of the church choir, at 17 I started entering competitions, doing karaoke shows, talent shows, and anything to get my name out there. I had big dreams that one day I will have productions on big posters that are recognised everywhere.”
She recalls her first tribute show which was Diana Ross and the Supremes in which she played the lead.
“I remember watching all her videos to mimic her every move and her style of singing, it was very refreshing yet scary as Diana is a legend and not everyone can pull off a great Diana tribute but I managed for a year, so, I guess I did OK.”
Nicolene was in Bahrain when the Coronavirus hit.
“Being stuck in Bahrain was not the worst thing that could have happened to me, not at all. It helped me build a show I had dreamt of for a long time”.
After various challenges, the Namibian-born entertainer is now hosting her own show.
“The show promises to be highly energetic, [with] eccentric dance moves, and [is an] impeccable vocal delight, [with] costume changes taking you back in time, from the Supremes to the Jackson 5.
“What more could you want? Two legends fused into one show, I mean come on, it’s Michael Jackson and Diana Ross!”
The show runs over two days, starting tonight at 7.30pm and on Saturday at 7.30pm.
