Lasizwe Dambuza is chuffed to have bagged his own reality show.
Local internet sensation Thulasizwe ‘Lasizwe’ Dambuza is getting his very his own reality show on MTV.

Lasizwe, aka Babes Wamaleyvels, has built up a following of 1.2 million fans on various social media platforms with his gatmaak videos.

The 20-year-old, who is following in the footsteps of sister TV personality Khanyi Mbau, will make his small screen debut in Lasizwe: Fake It Till You Make It, which is set to premiere on Monday, 21 January.

The 30-minute show follows Lasizwe’s day-to-day life including parties he attends in and around Joburg.

He takes the viewer behind the scenes of his spotlight moments as he shares intimate details of his personal challenges, including seeking his family’s approval of his lifestyle as a gay man.

Lasizwe’s comedy brand took off when he was first featured on MTV’s You Got Got.

Lasizwe told IOL: “I am tremendously excited to be working with MTV and VIMN (Viacom International Media Networks) Africa for the second time.

“The first time I worked with the brand was with You Got Got, which was the biggest highlight of my whole career because that is when MTV gave brand ‘Lasizwe the internet sensation’ a shot.

“I am grateful again to MTV for choosing me, my show and for giving their viewers an insight into my personal life, which will see the audience sharing a lot of laughter, tears and mixed emotions.”

The main characters on the show include Lasizwe’s partner in crime, radio personality Ayanda MVP, and his best friend Ofentse Keswa.

The show will air on MTV (DStv channel 130) at 10pm.
