Friday’s non-televised event and Saturday’s glittering ceremony were held at the Superbowl at Sun City in the North West province. Somizi, the main presenter on Saturday, shared the stage with Metro FM DJ and reality TV star, Dineo Ranaka, and comedian, Mpho Popps.
Craig Lucas and Paxton Fielies represented the Cape, while Boitumelo Thulo stieked uit in a figure-hugging gold barely there outfit, showing off her toned legs.
Shekhinah was thrilled to have won the Newcomer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year and Album of The Year awards.
Album of the Year! I can't believe it! This is probably my biggest accolade in a way - Having been trusted and given the opportunity and honour to work on the album artwork. Love your work @shekhinahd🏆🏆🏆 #GiveThanksPlayBeautifly #SAMA24 pic.twitter.com/Despz1p9Nm

She said: “The one that trumps everything on that list is Best Album. Literally. For me, it’s not about being the best female or best pop. It’s about having the best album across all genres, period. It’s more affirming to me.”
Sun-El Musician, who gave us Akanamali, walked off with awards for the SAMRO Highest Airplay Composer’s Award, Best Collaboration and the SAMPRA Highest Airplay Song of the Year awards.
