The stars came out to shine at the annual Daily Voice Diamonds and Divas event on Saturday, and we are not talking about the hot entertainers!
One hundred women dressed up in their finest spring-themed outfits topped off with bling arrived at Cafe 51 in Woodstock, ready for a few hours of good food, great fun and stellar entertainment, and we delivered!
Ladies were welcomed with a cute pink drink on arrival before they were whisked off to their seats.
The all-female jol kicked off with a lagbol session as comedian and MC Ashley Pienaar had the crowd entertained from start to finish and jinne we mos know how a combination of kos, music and laughs can feed the soul.
Needless to say, the ladies let their hair down, behoorlik!
Daily Voice editor Jade Otto welcomed the ladies while celebrity cook and media personality Abidah Dixon later shared some encouraging words and tips with the women.
Die ding het begin ruk when singer Mujahid George grabbed the mic to perform a medley of old school dance tracks, and within a minute the excited divas were on their feet, forgot all about their daily chores and responsibilities, and jolled like nobody was watching.
George’s performance was so hot that he ended up in his vessie.
“It was getting too hot in there while performing but I don’t think the ladies minded me losing some clothes in the process,” he joked afterwards.
Also turning up the head was Loukmaan Adams, who got the ladies hot under their collars as he serenaded them.
Between all of the lekker entertainment was also a stunning performance of Ajay ‘Wonderboy’ Pienaar, 9, who will be jetting off to the UK soon for his audition on Britain’s Got Talent.
Cafe 51 served up scrumptious chicken, cocktail potatoes, a fresh garden salad, akni, ice cream and brownies.
An excited Roxanne Abrahams says: “Wow! What an exceptional event, everything was wonderful from the minute we arrived till the very end. The food was delicious and the entertainment was kwaai, I was literally on my feet the entire time. Thank you Daily Voice for the amazing afternoon well spent.”
Also in attendance were special guests such as Showmax stars BB Vahlour from Beaulah Queens Van Die Kaap and Candice Austin from Die Ondernemers, and Miss Sovereign finalists Chedino Rodriques Martin and Jemma Mazwai.
DJ Portia ended off the day with a live music set.
The ladies were sent home with a lekker goodie bag as well as free tickets to see Joe Barber live at Grandwest.
