LEGAL PAYMENT: Porn star Stormy Daniels paid off

Donald Trump’s lawyer has revealed he paid $130 000 (nearly R1.5 million) out of his own pocket to a porn star who claimed she had an affair with the US president.

The attorney, Michael Cohen, told the New York Times that he was not reimbursed for the payment to actress Stormy Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford.

Cohen told the newspaper the payment was legal, and he declined to give details such as why he made it.

“Neither the Trump Organisation nor the Trump campaign was party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly,” Cohen said.

“The payment to Ms. Clifford was lawful, and was not a campaign contribution or a campaign expenditure by anyone.”

The payment was reportedly made one month before the November 2016 election to shut her up.

Trump was married at the time and his wife, Melania, had given birth to their son less than four months earlier.

FUNDED PORN STAR: US prez. Donald Trump

Trump, through his lawyers, has denied jolling with the porn star.

Stormy, 38, claimed in an interview released last month that Trump was swak in the sack.

She described one of their sex sessions as follows: “He was sitting on the bed, and he was like, ‘Come here.’ And I was like, ‘Ugh, here we go,’ and we started kissing.

“I actually don’t even remember why I did it, but I do remember while we were having sex, I was like, ‘Please don’t try to pay me.’ And then I remember thinking, ‘But I bet if he did, it would be a lot.”’
