Bruno Mars is soon to be music royalty.
The Versace On The Floor hitmaker has been offered the chance of a lifetime to step into his idol’s shoes.
And even though he’s currently on the road with his 24K Magic World Tour, he already knows what his next big gig will be. He’s just landed an honourary role for an upcoming Netflix film.
Bruno, 32, has been tipped to play Prince in a movie the streaming service is launching about the late Purple Rain hitmaker’s life.
A Netflix source reportedly said: “Bruno says it will probably be the most nerve-racking move of his career if it happens.
“Prince was one of his idols so to be asked to take on a hefty role like that especially as a debut acting move is full-on.
“The offer has come out of the blue. Bruno used to love acting when he was younger, but it’s not an avenue he’s explored.”
Representatives from Bruno’s team and Prince’s estate have yet to respond to the source.
The role should come naturally to Bruno as he and Prince have plenty in common.
They’re both brilliant songwriters, k waai dancers and maestros on the guitar.
And they’re both shorties - Bruno standing at 1.65m and Prince a diminutive 1.6m.
The multi-talented Prince Rogers Nelson was known for his eclectic work, flamboyant stage presence and extravagant outfits.
Born and raised in Minnesota, the 80s and 90s legend died in 2016 at the age of 57 of an accidental fentanyl overdose.
