Proteas cricket star Wayne Parnell and his wife Aisha Baker have welcomed their first child to the world - a boy.
The overjoyed parents shared the good news on social media, thanking everyone for their support.
A representative for Aisha, a well-known Cape Town fashion blogger, said: “They feel extremely blessed and are excited about this new addition to their family. It’s the couple’s first born child and they can’t wait to embark on this new chapter in their lives.”
Aisha also shared on her Instagram page: “Mashallah my beautiful baby boy was born today. Both of us are doing well. Thank you in advance for all the well-wishes and prayers.”
Wayne posted a picture of himself, writing on Instagram: “I’m lying in bed next to mommy and baby Parny and super thankful that everything went fairly smoothly today, it’s totally worth the exhaustion.”
The Cape Cobras star, who converted to Islam, and Aisha are celebrating their two-year wedding anniversary this month.
While Wayne Jnr doesn’t have a name yet, the couple previously said they have compiled a list of Arabic names that have strong religious significance.
