Jazz legend Don Laka, chart-topping vocalist Craig Lucas, seven-piece indigenous band BCUC, jazz master and saxophonist Don Vino and the Soweto Gospel Choir are among the local stars who’ve been added to the line-up for the Cape Town International Jazz Festival next year.
The 20th celebration of Africa’s Grandest Gathering is taking place on 29-30 March 2019 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
Organisers espAfrica said this announcement celebrated South Africa’s diversity in Heritage Month, following on from its initial artist reveal in August when several female singers were named in Women’s Month.
Festival director Billy Domingo said: “International guests come to SA to see artists they are not able to see back at home. We have created a legacy of supporting South African artists by providing the international platform they deserve.”
Previously announced artists include Chaka Khan, SA’s first all-female big band, The Lady Day Big Band and Shekhinah.

A regular weekend pass will cost you R1290 and a day pass is priced at R850.
