As Mzansi gets ready to bid farewell to The Voice South Africa Season 3 this week, Idols SA Season 15 makes its appearance.
The first episode airs on Sunday and there’s some lekker surprises in store for viewers, none of which we are allowed to mention at this stage.
We can, however, reveal that after the Idols auditions took place with thousands of mense trying out, Cape Town has a whopping 16 contestants in the Top 32 for Theatre Week.
Idols SA is also breathing new life into the show with a brand new theme, “Going For Gold”.
Executive producer and director of SIC Entertainment, Gavin Wratten, says: “Idols is all about pursuing and reaching your dreams, so going for gold is another way of saying take that first step and go for it.”

Even if you don’t get the ultimate prize, there are many success stories of finalists, such as those of Shekinah, Mmatema Moremi and Amanda Black.
None of them won the title, but all went on to become famous singers.
The show on Sunday starts with the Joburg auditions.
Wratten said the contestants this season were next level in terms of talent.
Idols SA is on Mzansi Magic, DStv Channel 161 on Sundays at 5.30pm.
Meanwhile, three Cape Town acts will be contending to win The Voice SA on Sunday.
Cape Town’s PJ Twins, Soné Joubert and Tasche Burger are up against PE’s Eon le Roux and Siki Jo-An.
The finalé will be screened live on M-Net 101 on Sunday at 5.30pm.
