We're smack bang in the middle of the month and most of us are platsak, but then again if you’re working for the government, you mos lekker sterk gevriet this weekend, nuh.
For the rest of you, moenie worry nie, it’s the Cape Town Carnival on Saturday and it’s free.
The annual colourful showcase celebrates our African identity, our diverse communities, our variety of cultures, and it’s all vibrantly coming alive in a beautiful parade of floats and mense jolling down Somerset Road in Green Point.
This year’s theme is Vuka Ukhanye- Arise ‘n Shine.
The Fan Walk will be open, and there’ll be food and drink on sale and plenty of live entertainment.
Visit the Cape Town Carnival Village and the Cape Town Carnival Food Court (offering music, entertainment, a bar and food) to get you into the mood prior to the parade.

The cast of Arendsvlei and Suidooster will be there for a meet and greet and the fun starts at 2pm. Also, be on the lookout for 2017 Idols SA winner Paxton Fielies for a picture opportunity.
Between 6pm and 6.40pm, enjoy the Harley Davidson drive-through, The Bachelor SA will be handing out red roses to the ladies in the crowd while the Cape Town Firemen will be on hand once again to hot things up. (Psst, we hear there’ll be an opportunity to rub oil over their six-packs as they parade topless).
The parade starts at 7pm, and this year’s special guest is Idols SA 2018 winner Yanga Sobetwa who will be performing on the Carnival Parade stage at 10.30pm to end things off on a high note.
