It’s not a major blow to Capetonians, but Cardi B’s much-anticipated once-off show in Johannesburg has been called off.
Castle Lite Unlocks event organisers announced on Wednesday that the festival and the rapper’s performance set to take place on June 12 at the TicketPro Dome has been postponed indefinitely.

Castle Lite Brand Director Silke Bucker said they would communicate further details around a new date and tickets by the end of this month. Tickets remain valid.
Wednesday, it was announced that Comic Con Cape Town, which was set to take place on 1-3 May 2020 has been postponed to 2021, due to the South African government’s ban on public events over 100 people for a 90-day national disaster period.
Organisers said the show will now be held on 24-27 April 2021 and will still take place at the Cape Town Stadium.
Over in Hollywood, the Billboard Music Awards have been postponed.
The annual music event - which was set to take place on April 29 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas - was called off “in accordance with the current guidelines set forth by national and local health officials and in order to ensure the health and safety of our artists, fans, guests and staff”.
In the UK, Glastonbury Festival 2020 has officially been postponed to June 2021.

It was confirmed on Wednesday that organisers have decided to pull the plug on the 50th anniversary edition of the music event this June, where Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney and Kendrick Lamar were due to headline.

Closer to the pandemic hotspot in Europe, Eurovision Song Contest 2020 has been axed.
The annual singing contest - due to take place in the Netherlands this May - was called off with organisers “in conversation with the City of Rotterdam regarding the hosting of the contest in 2021”.
