The Youth Jazz Festival at the Artscape Theatre on Saturday night was definitely music to everyone’s ears.
There were 16 young local musicians, all playing instruments or singing, but they had one thing in common – a love for jazz.
The group was led by four mentors, including piano man Camillo Lombard, and they played only SA music.
The audience was treated to songs by Hugh Masekela, Marcus Wyatt, Alvin Dyers and Sibongile Khumalo, among others.
The youngsters are all music students from universities in Cape Town.
